John McGlinchey is the founder and managing director of Forensic Engineering Solutions. John’s forensic career commenced in 1981; in 1988 he opened his own practice and in 2005 he formed Forensic Engineering Solutions. He holds a Masters Degree in Forensic Engineering and Science from Cranfield University (Defence Academy, Shrivenham); a second Masters Degree in Collision Investigation (Teesside University); a Diploma in Mechanical and Production Engineering, and a Certificate in Forensic Road Accident Investigation. He is a Research Associate at the Cranfield Forensic Institute, a Research Associate at the Cranfield Centre for Musculoskeletal and Medicolegal Research and Expert Advisor to the Innocence Project Ireland. In terms of CPD John has also studied forensic ballistics, crime scene evaluation, biomechanics, tyre construction, forensic pathology and eyewitness and driver psychology. He has given evidence extensively over the years in both civil and criminal courts.
